Terrence Laragione is a multidisciplinary artist based in Philadelphia, known for his oil paintings that blend realistic cityscapes with elements of the surreal. His work is deeply inspired by vintage and retro aesthetics, with a particular focus on the city's old architecture, vehicles, and pop culture. Laragione attended the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art and began his career showing his work in local galleries before finding a more direct connection with the public by hanging his art in his own business, Buzz Cafe, which doubles as his studio and gallery space.
Over his career, Laragione's art has evolved through different phases and subjects, most notably his long-running "trolley series," featuring the timeless city trolleys, and his more recent, sci-fi-themed explorations. His work has expanded to include solo exhibitions, such as Space Cowboys, which showcased 50 sci-fi portraits, and the development of his own comic book, El Bunny, which grew out of a series of doodles. Laragione uses his Philadelphia base as a constant inspiration, crafting pieces that are both a tribute to the city's character and a window into his own imaginative world.
