Thomas Gieseke was born December 19, 1952 in Kansas City, MO. After serving in the US Army in 1975, Gieseke set out to become an illustrator. He had a very successful career that spanned over four decades. The latter part of that career has been spent with a move into fine art. Gieseke utilizes the style and technique he honed as an illustrator in the paintings he is making now.
Gieseke has always been attracted to the bizarre and unusual. With that it is only reasonable to see that he prefers surrealism. His works usually incorporate aspects of nature.
He is fascinated with evolution and science and draws much of his work by asking “What if?”
