Joe Lastomirsky is a Portland-based artist with a diverse career spanning fine art and film. After studying at the College for Creative Studies, he worked for years as a scenic and sign painter on feature films like Groundhog Day and Practical Magic. Following his work in the film industry, Lastomirsky founded Mud Pie Studio, where he created concrete tiles and custom furniture for a decade. This multifaceted background has informed his artistic versatility, which now includes painting and sculpture, with his work being exhibited at galleries like Portland's Brassworks Gallery.
Lastomirsky’s fine art often features expressive and impressionistic figures, such as his popular series of "figures in water," and he has also created concrete sculptures.
